Drainage

Drainage is a popular concern among many homeowners and business owners for many reasons.  Initially after new construction is complete most owners (whether residential or commercial) experience "low spots" due to poor grading (the way the dirt is laid and worked in order to direct water to a designated area).  Fraser 1st Class has always been commited to providing professional results when encountering this issue.

There are generally three solutions that can be utilized to correct this problem.  The use of a solid drain line (in most cases PVC) along with a catch basin provides a sound solution if there are only a few low-lying areas and there is a consistent drop in level from the problematic area to the water's exit point.  If you are stuck in a situation where there are an abundance of "low-spots", re-grading may be your best option.  When neither of the previous stated solutions is an option, a sump-pump kit will be required to take care of this issue.  What the sump-pump kit allows is a lower exit point for the water to run into (generally a 50 gallon drum buried with the top grade level).  The kit includes the sump-pump, drum, vent, and in most cases a check valve.  The only real downside to this system is that it needs power to operate; so in the event of a power outage you are either out of luck, or need a generator to operate the pump.

If you are planning on changing your yard's landscape (including all hardscapes), drainage needs to be taken into consideration.  When designing a landscape, addressing drainage plans at the same time will later reduce costs and will also aid in a better final product.

Whatever drainage issue you have, Fraser 1st Class will be more than happy to provide you with sound results.
